Initial MRP Guidelines
These guidelines pertain to your first few Mrp sessions after system startup day.
•MRP may generate an unusually large number of jobs and POs if many items that were previously made or purchased to order have been given an order policy of Forecast or Stock Level. If this high supply volume is more than you can financially or logistically handle at this time, you can postpone planned jobs and POs for any items that do not have current demand. Use the Stock Status inquiry to make this determination.
•To postpone a planned job or PO, set the Plan Qty to zero.
•Postponed jobs and POs will continue to get generated with each MRP session and must be re-postponed each time until each is ready for conversion.
