Remaining Job Days Inquiry

This inquiry calculates the remaining jobs days against a released job.  It is accessed from the Job Schedule and Work Center Schedule screens.

Upper Panel

Job No, Job Qty, UM, Primary Output, Description

These fields identify the job.  

Job Finish

This is the job’s scheduled finish date.

Days to Finish  

This is the number of shop days between the current date and the Job Finish date.  

Rem Job Days

This is the estimated number of remaining shop days needed to finish the job.  It is derived from the total of the Job Days column in the grid below.  

Slack to Finish

This is the number of “slack days” that exist between today’s date and the Job Finish date.  Slack days are a measure of surplus time in the schedule and are calculated as follows:  

Days to Finish – Rem Job Days = Slack to Finish

Required

This is the job’s current required date.  

Days to Req  

This is the number of shop days between the current date and the job’s Required date.  

Rem Job Days

This is the estimated number of remaining shop days needed to finish the job.  It is derived from the total of the Job Days column in the grid below.

Slack to Req

This is the number of “slack days” that exist between today’s date and the job’s Required date.  Slack days are a measure of surplus time in the schedule and are calculated as follows:  

Days to Req – Rem Job Days = Slack to Req

Days to Req

This is the number of shop days between the current date and the job’s Required date.

Rem Seq Days

This is the estimated number of sequence days needed to finish the job. Queue Days are not considered in this calculation.  It is derived from the total of the Rem Seq Days column in the grid below.  

Priority

This is the job’s Priority value, which is calculated as follows:  

Days to Req – Rem Seq Days = Priority

Grid Fields

Sequence, Status, Process ID, Work Center  

These fields identify each job sequence.

Rem Setup Days

This is the remaining setup hours for this job sequence expressed in shop days, calculated as follows:  

Rem Setup Hrs / Job Hrs/Day = Rem Setup Days

Rem Labor Days

This is the remaining labor hours for this job sequence expressed in shop days, calculated as follows:    

Rem Labor Hrs / Job Hrs/Day = Rem Labor Days

Days to Next

This is the Days to Next setting for this job sequence.  

Rem Seq Days

This is the remaining sequence days for this job sequence, calculated as follows:  

Rem Setup Days + Rem Labor Days + Days to Next = Rem Seq Days

Queue Days

This is this work center’s current Queue Days calculation, which is a measure of the potential waiting time for job sequences arriving at this work center.  

NOTE: If this job sequence has a status of ‘Started’, this is given a value of zero because there is no waiting time for a job sequence in progress.  

Rem Job Days

This is the total remaining job days for this sequence, calculated as follows:    

Rem Setup Days + Rem Labor Days + Days to Next + Queue Days = Rem Job Days

Job Hrs/Day (important Work Center Capacity setting)

This is the Job Hrs/Day setting for this work center.  It is divided into the Rem Setup Hrs and Rem Labor Hrs to translate those field values into Rem Setup Days and Rem Labor Days.
