Screen Details

Fields

Session No

This field identifies the current MRP session number.

Started

This field displays the date and time the current MRP session was originally initiated.

Level

Each manufactured item is assigned to the lowest Level it occupies among all the product structures where it is used as a BOM component.  Sell items, including CTO items, are always level ‘0’ items.

For

This field indicates the type of items currently being processed.  Values are ‘CTO Items’, ‘Sell Items’ and ‘Sub Items’.

Display

This field determines the grid contents below.

CTO Items

The text SO Lines without CTO Job is displayed against CTO items to indicate the origin of the planned jobs listed in the grid.  A planned job is generated for any sales order line for a CTO item where the line does not yet have a value in the CTO Job field.

Sell Items. Subassemblies, and P Items

Two display options are available against sell items, subassemblies, and P items.  These two views provide complete visibility of all current and future material requirements.

Planned Jobs/POs

This default option lists planned jobs or POs generated to fulfill material requirements (net demand below Reorder Point) within current item planning periods.

No Action Needed

This option can be selected to list items with future requirements (net demand below Reorder Point) outside of current item planning periods, in which case no planned job or PO is needed at this time.  MRP will generate a planned job or PO in a future session when the Required date falls within the item’s current planning period.

Select All

Click this button to select the OK checkbox against all lines in the grid.

NOTE: Selection will not be made against any planned job or PO with a red icon displayed in the Errors field.

Clear All

Click this line to clear the OK checkbox against all lines in the grid.

Sort Grid

Clicking this button displays a screen that enables you to rearrange the sort order of various grid columns.

Reset Grid

The grid column order can be changed by dragging column headings to desired positions.  Click this button to restore the default column order.

Output Grid

Click this button to launch the Output Grid screen, which can be used to customize grid columns and headings and to output grid contents to an Excel spreadsheet, HTML file, CSV file, or to a printout.

Refresh Item Master Data

Click this button to refresh master data for the items displayed in the grid, meaning descriptions, units of measure, line notes, costs, prices, supplier line card information, and manufacturer specifications.  Typically this is used during PO generation when MRP is paused and item master changes are made and you wish those changes to be applied to the planned POs listed in the grid.

NOTE: This process refreshes item master data within existing planned POs, but does not regenerate planned POs and thus will not reflect any changes made to item MRP settings.

Convert

Click this button to convert planned jobs with a Job Qty value into actual jobs or to convert planned POs with a PO Qty value into actual POs.  When processing is completed, the screen advances to the next level.

Planned Job Conversion

Planned jobs are converted as follows:

To insure the integrity of multi-level generation, partial job conversion with a level is not permitted.  Planned jobs cannot be converted until all the OK checkboxes in the grid are selected.
Each newly created job is given a Status of ‘NEW’.
If BOM customization details are not yet completed for a CTO item, set its Job Qty to zero and the planned job will not be converted at this time.  When a planned job for a CTO item is converted, the CTO Job field within the associated sales order line is populated with the newly created job number.
If the Split Job option was used to split the planned Job Qty into multiple quantities, an actual job is created for each split quantity.

Planned PO Conversion

Planned POs are converted as follows:

Unlike planned jobs, planned POs can be partially converted.  For example, you may wish to convert planned POs one supplier at a time.
All planned POs selected for conversion against a particular supplier are consolidated into a single purchase order.
Ιf two or more PO types are defined in the PO Types screen, you are prompted for the PO Type.  The default PO Type is automatically selected, but can be changed if desired.
Each newly created PO is given a Status of ‘Opened’ and a Description of ‘From MRP’.
